Introduction to Welding for Hobbyists

Need to repair that ’57 Chevy? Sutton-Garten offers an introductory welding class for hobbyists interested in learning how to put down a good weld. Our weld class has been named the Best of Indianapolis by the Indianapolis Monthly magazine.

Classes are held in a 2000 square foot training area facility with welding booths, fume exhaust equipment and an air conditioned classroom. Class participants are required to have safety glasses, welding gloves, and welding helmet. Cotton clothing and safety shoes recommended. We train on the newest equipment available. Filler metals, wire, gas and metal all furnished. Individual project time is available during class.

Class size is small so there is plenty of time with the instructor. Handout materials provided, and approximately 90% of the time is spent in the lab welding. The introductory class is $85 per session, 4 hours per session with a $10 material charge for filler metal, gas, and metal welding coupons. Normal class times are Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, 4 to 8 pm, Thursday and Friday noon to 4pm. Special times may be arranged by contacting the instructor at weld@suttongarten.com
