Sutton-Garten Receives Top Award from IWDC
July 8, 2025Sutton-Garten company, one of the longest established family-owned businesses in Indianapolis, has made a major investment at their Indianapolis dry ice manufacturing facility. Due to increasing demand and increases in production, Sutton-Garten purchased and constructed their first Dry Ice Reclaimer.
The reclaimer, a Salon Limited manufactured machine, was shipped from their facility in Texas requiring two oversized loads and a police escort through Indiana for delivery and construction at the dry ice facility located at 2917 Roosevelt Avenue, Indianapolis.
“The planning and execution, from delivery to construction and deployment of the reclaimer required several weeks of planning, a dedicated team of Sutton-Garten employees and partners. It was quite an accomplishment from initial planning to rapid construction and commissioning,”says Jake Maynard, Dry Ice Chief Marketing Officer.
The reclaimer, also known as a CO2 recovery system, is a machine designed to capture and reuse the carbon dioxide gas that is a byproduct of the dry ice manufacturing process. The exhaust is recaptured then re-liquefied and stored for reuse. The many benefits of this recapturing process include:
- Cost Reduction for both Sutton-Garten and their dry ice customers
- Increased Efficiency
- Enhanced Sustainability (a much smaller carbon footprint)
- No secondary waste: this process does not produce secondary waste or residues
“With the growth of our dry ice division, it was a no-brainer to invest in this equipment. Our goal is to always provide a consistent fresh dry ice product to our customers. It was time to take this next step towards becoming the Midwest’s preferred supplier of dry ice products and blasting equipment,” states Matt Garten, Dry Ice Operations Director.
Sutton-Garten has served the welding community for more than 100 years. A supplier of welding equipment, supplies, gases and manufacturer of dry ice, the Sutton-Garten company serves the Midwest and beyond from facilities in Indianapolis, Fort Wayne and East Chicago.
